The APSIC Course in Swimming Pool Safety Inspections (10660NAT) is an accredited course, delivered over 3 days via face to face in class room learning and on a real pool barrier at the training venue. This course is delivered in partnership with Traxion Training (RTO 32254).
Commencing 1 September 2017, the previously accredited 31005QLD course was updated to the new 10660NAT accredited training course. This course may only be delivered by an RTO who has added this new course to the scope of their accredited training via ASQA.
There are no pre-requisite requirements for enrolment in this course. APSIC has trained people from various backgrounds including swimming pool technicians, building and pest inspectors, builders, fencing installers, and then of course people with no qualifications or experience. All of our students have successfully completed this course and become qualified Pool Safety Inspectors.
From the1st December 2010, all swimming pools on regulated land in Queensland are required, at the time of sale or lease of their property, to have a pool safety inspection conducted by licensed pool safety inspectors and be issued with a pool safety certificate stating that the pool complies with the new pool safety laws and standards. Currently there are approximately 330,000 swimming pools located in the state of Queensland.
The Accredited Pool Safety Inspector Course is delivered via face to face in classroom learning over 3 days from Monday - Wednesday, commencing at 8am and finishing at 4pm each day.
As well as in-class training, the course will be delivered via practical learning on a real pool barrier at the training venue, as an example of real time Pool Inspections.
In preparation for the course, you will be required to complete a small amount of 'pre-course preparation' by reading over the Code of Conduct for Pool Safety Inspectors document (4 page document) and answering a short Assessment Questionnaire.
The course participant numbers are restricted to a maximum of 15 students per class, ensuring you receive the personalized one on one training and support you expect and deserve.
During the course you will learn the pool safety laws and how to apply these in the role of a Pool Safety Inspector when conducting an inspection of a regulated pool, for the issuing of a pool safety certificate or nonconformity notice. The completion of this course will result in you receiving a qualification, allowing you to apply for your Pool Safety Inspectors licence via the QBCC. In addition, this course will provide you with the real practical skills required to operate a successful business in this industry.
As required under the accredited course guideline, the following Module will be covered during this course:
